This is a pen and ink chracature drawing of Notre Dame coach Ara Parseghian. I did this back in 1973 when Notre Dame and Alabama clashed for the National title. The records were the same back then as they are for the 2013 championship game. Notre Dame came out on top with a 24 - 23 win to cap off an undefeated season.

The text on the picture reads: Notre Dame National Champions , 1973 Sugar Bowl, Notre Dame 24 Alabama 23, Ara Parseghian and his fighting Irish ( 11-0) beat Paul "Bear" Bryant and his Crimson Tide ( 11-1 ) to cap an undefeated season in a memorable battle of titans.
